Martin Patričný
Martin Patřičný, born in 1955 in Prague, is a woodcarver who learned his craft from his uncle, specializing in wood carving and turning. After completing his secondary school education, he held various jobs such as a shop assistant, window-dresser, driver, stock-keeper, and woodcutter. However, since around 1988, he has dedicated himself fully to the art of wood carving.
Currently, Patřičný resides and works in Debrno, near Kralupy nad Vltavou. His focus and expertise lie in the intricate art of wood carving, where he brings to life beautiful and intricate designs through his mastery of the medium. Through his dedication and skill, he has established himself as an accomplished woodcarver in the artistic community.
He was co-author of the screenplay and guide of 26 pieces of a large TV document Wood Piece from a Tree - Wood for Life Foundation, directed by Bedřich Ludvík, ČT 2/2008, 2009,10 ... 2014-5 Tv. NOAH In 2000, with Václav Větvička and Hanna Hegerová, they declared the Day of Trees, originally the Day of Trees and Wood, 20.10.2000 - for the first time. The National Museum is supported by the exhibition Tree Trees, M. Patrice, J. Michalek. Support from the Partnership Foundation.
Patřičný has over one hundred exhibitions in the Czech Republic, eg 1993 - Rudolfinum, Prague, 1995 - Lichtenstein Palace, HAMU, 1998 - Municipal House and National Museum in Prague, 2002 - Academy of Sciences ... Pro For Arch prepared two large exhibitions on wood. He was the patron of the Wood Art exhibition at the Wood Trade Fair.
