Jan Vit

Jan Vít (*1950) passed through a period of portraits as well as a period of realistic figural sculptures. His theatrical and dancing experience and his intimate familiarity with topics of the New Testament are reflected in his latest works. The author emphasizes clarity of lines, balance and stylize of shapes together with inner contents. Jan´s creativity oscillates between expressive and geometric composition, between play and design. A refine minimalistic line and shape are characteristic in his current works and give an unmistakeable personal style to his figural sculptures. Jan Vít presented his works in array of exhibitions and his sculptures are represented in private collections and galleries at home as well as abroad. He lives and works in Prague.
