Jakub Obrovský

J.Obrovský (1882-1949) was a Moravian sculptor, painter, graphic artist and writer. 

In 1897 he went to Prague. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague under Celda Klouček, E. K. Liška, K. V. Mašek and Stanislav Sucharda (1897-1901). He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts with Max Pirner (1901-1904), where he became a professor in 1919 and its rector in the second half of the 1930s. In 1921, together with other sculptors, he was appointed a full member of the Paris Salon.
