Martin Patřičný was born in 1955 in Prague
He learned his trade privately with his uncle (wood carving and wood turning). After graduating from high school he went through a number of jobs (salesman, arranger, driver, warehouseman, woodcutter, etc.). Since about 1988 he has been fully dedicated to artistic work with wood. He lives and works in Debrno near Kralupy nad Vltavou.
He was co-author of the screenplay and guide for 26 episodes of the great TV documentary Kus dřeva ze stromu - Nadace Dřevo pro život, directed by Bedřich Ludvík, ČT 2/ 2008, 2009,10...2014-5 Tv. NOE
In 2000, together with Václav Větvička and Hana Hegerová, they declared the Day of Trees, originally the Day of Trees and Wood, 20.10.2000 - for the first time. The National Museum supported them with the exhibition Day of Trees, M.Patřičný, J. Michálek. Support from the Partnership Foundation.
Patřičný has had over a hundred exhibitions in the country, e.g. 1993 - Rudolfinum, Prague, 1995 - Lichtenstein Palace, HAMU, 1998 - Municipal House and National Museum in Prague, 2002 - Academy of Sciences... For Arch he prepared two extensive exhibitions on wood. He was a patron of the Art of Wood exhibition at the Wooden Buildings Fair.
